    Chase Brass and Copper Company, a leader in the brass rod industry, has an immediate opening for a Supply Chain Analyst/Purchasing Agent at our Montpelier, Ohio facility.


    Job Summary:


    This position has a dual focus on both supply chain analysis and procurement. The primary responsibility is to reduce costs and improve efficiencies in the areas of purchasing, materials management and logistics.   The role will work closely with individuals in purchasing, raw material procurement, planning, engineering, operations management, information systems and finance to analyze and define opportunities for improvement.  The role will also be lead the development of key performance metrics and systems to monitor and drive YOY continuous improvement objectives.   Purchasing responsibilities will include analyzing vendor contracts, preparing and evaluating RFQ’s and determining sourcing decisions. 


    • Develop and execute projects to decrease costs and meet annual Company cost reduction goals, including ongoing purchases, one-time expense and Capital purchases.

    • Create processes and methods to gather data, analyze and report results, and execute improvements for the supply chain department, including MRO and raw material purchasing, logistics, etc.

    • Analyze supply chain and purchasing data to improve inventory turns, planning and scheduling to increase operational efficiency.

    • Prepare bid documents, analyze results, and negotiate improved pricing and terms.

    • Work with suppliers to develop supply agreements to meet the needs of the Company.

    • Act as a liaison between all departments for supply chain/purchasing initiatives.

    • Collaborate with IT department to investigate/implement more efficient supply chain processes and systems.

    • Support the Company’s SOX processes and financial audit requirements.



    • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum three years of purchasing/supply chain experience in a manufacturing company.



    • Ability to work independently and manage priorities.

    • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.

    • Thorough knowledge of MS Office, including excellent MS Excel skills.

    • Working knowledge of relational databases and ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, Maximo).

    • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, to work with all departments and suppliers.
