    Chase Brass and Copper Company, a leader in the brass rod industry, has an immediate opening for an experienced Purchasing Manager at our Montpelier, Ohio facility.


    Job Summary:

    Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain, the Purchasing Manager develops and executes the procurement and warehousing strategy for maintenance, repair and operating supplies (MRO) to support Company operations and objectives.   The role is responsible for procurement of capital equipment and services for Company operations.  This role owns the development of the short and long-term strategy development for MRO Purchasing and Warehousing, in alignment with the Company’s overall strategy, as well as the executing and monitoring performance on an on-going basis.


    Essential Functions:

    • Manages the MRO procurement & warehousing functions for the Company.
    • Responsible for sourcing, including developing RFQ’s, conducting negotiations, contracting and on-going supplier management.
    • Develops and maintains department reporting of share performance versus plan with Company leadership.
    • Develops and implements processes and procedures to improve procurement and warehouse operations efficiencies. Works closely with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements.
    • Warehousing and supply chain management of MRO products and processes for the Company.
    • Develops purchasing cost savings programs and reporting for the Company.  
    • Insures department processes and functions support the Company’s SOX requirements. Completes necessary tasks for internal and external audit processes.
    • Project management for purchasing-related projects.


    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
    • 5+ years of purchasing/supply chain management experience in a manufacturing company


    Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong analytical and financial skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Proficient use of ERP systems, maintenance management systems as well as Microsoft products (Word, Excel, etc.)
    • Project management experience a must.
    • Ability to develop relationships and negotiate with suppliers.
