Wieland is hiring a Foundry Tech. The Foundry Tech will be responsible for assisting the Casting Operator with the charging, melting, refining and casting processes including temperature controls, sampling of metal, monitoring of fume treatment system, runway preparation, and controlling and monitoring the casting of molten copper into solid ingot form. This role is located in Shelbyville and will be fully on-site. 

 

This role will be located at Wieland Recycling - Shelbyville in Shelbyville, KY. This facility is currently under construction and is expected to be fully operational by the Fall. The initial schedule for this role will be 8-10 hour shifts from Monday - Friday. The Recycling facility will progress to be a 24/7 operation - so this person must be willing and able to work twelve (12) hour shifts, to include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime in late 2023 onward.

 

Starting Pay: $22.00

 

Responsibilities

Foundry Tech Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with heavy equipment operation
  • A quick learner, ability to work with little to no supervision
  • Safely and efficiently performs all essential functions of the job
  • Superior cognitive and systems knowledge to achieve production goals
  • Develop and maintain accurate written records
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions
  • Proficient in mathematics and measurement
  • Strong leadership abilities as demonstrated with past work experience or activities
  • Basic knowledge of (or ability to learn) Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, and Outlook
