This is a full-time position; Monday-Friday, 1st Shift

Responsibilities


This role is accountable for facilitating the safety program and supporting our HR team with administrative tasks.

 

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Champion “Safety Excellence” by complying with all safety rules/processes, supporting the Safety Elements, and driving Wieland Marjan to be leaders in safety performance and cultural participation.
  • Manage VPP certification and recertification action items.
  • Conduct safety training for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Monitors and maintains MDI boards with current reports and safety information.
  • Generates monthly safety trends for facility.  
  • Perform and document monthly, weekly and daily safety inspections. 
  • Ensure all activities confrm to local, federal, industry standards and laws.  
  • Prepare and organize necessary safety paperwork and audits.
  • Manage safety observation process, including assigning corrective actions and preventative actions.
  • Lead safety investigations and ensures corrective actions are appropriate, fulfilled and sustainable.
  • Coordinates and executes monthly Safety Committee meetings.

Administrative

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications


  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience of facilitating cross functional teams in office environment.
  • Safety program experience is a plus, passion for safety is required.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office.
  • Excellent intrapersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to handle and understand complex tasks.
  • Proficient problem solving, prioritization and project management skills.  
  • Ability to mulitask and work independently.
  • Commitment to the established values and culture of WMS.
