Wieland is hiring a Maintenance Technician. The maintenance technician will be responsible for the helping with the continuous operation and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and the facility. Other responsibilities will include preventive maintenance and reducing the incidence of costly breakdowns to improve overall reliability and safety of plant personnel and production processes. This role is located in Texas City, TX and will be fully on-site. 

Starting Pay:  $21-24

Schedule: M-F 8-5

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

• Proactively perform quality and safety inspections for equipment, machinery, and the facility
• Work closely with Operations Team, keeping them informed of project status
• Support OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and company safety policies and procedures
• Support management with data gathering to support key initiatives 
• Install new or replacement parts and test equipment operation
• Create and maintain a safe organized working environment
• Respond to emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs 
• Carry out routine scheduled maintenance work
• Act swiftly to address and communicate equipment breakdowns with teammates
• Other maintenance tasks as assigned

Maintenance Technician Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Post highschool education is a plus.
• Three years of experience working in industrial facilities.
• Experience maintaining or repairing industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Good problem solving and technical skills.
• Fabrication and welding experience.
• Able to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams.
• Functional knowledge of and experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems.
• Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to read a voltage meter (preferred)
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail (critical skill) and safety.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers and management
• Ability to work as part of a team and aid teammates
• Ability to work flexible hours as required by the position
• Lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds
• Standing, walking up to 8 hours
• Twisting, bending up to 4 hours
