Wieland is hiring a Quality Technician. The Quality Technician will be responsible for LP & HP tube testing, defining Lab testing priorities, QA inspection lots, Shopfloor support, and Mechanical Material testing. Works closely – interdepartmentally with Production, Maintenance and Process Engineering (as needed) to ensure Quality compliance throughout the shopfloor. This role is located in Wheeling, IL and will be fully on-site. 

Starting Pay:  $20.50-23

Schedule: M-F  First and Second shift

Quality Technician Responsibilities:

• Having EHS as top priority – creating/supporting an environment of safety excellence and promoting a safe environment for everyone.
• Actively supports the department by sustaining current processes while seeking opportunities for continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (SOPs, Work Instructions, Process Maps and Quality records) by thorough, and consistent review.
• Responsible for LP & HP testing, and providing feedback to Production, Engineering, and Quality as needed.
• Supports sustainability of ISO 9001:2015 certification by supporting Gauge care and calibration.
• Provides Mechanical Material testing (as needed).
• Responsible for ensuring implementation of quality control procedures, in-process inspections and completed product inspections.

Quality Technician Qualifications:

• Highschool diploma (or equivalent) and/or equivalent comprehensive experience in the field.
• HVAC certification (Technician Type Universal - 40 CFR 82 Subpart F) is a plus.
• Experience in Gauge Management and Calibration.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement – knowledge of LEAN tools is a plus.
• Advanced English language skills, both spoken and written – Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Proficiency in MS Office and data entry is required.
