Wieland currently has an immediate opportunity for a Electrical Maintenance Technician to join Wieland's Recycling center in Shelbyville, KY. The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive electrical and maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goal and objectives. This role is located in Shelbyville, KY and will be fully on-site. 

 

This person must be willing and able to work twelve (12) hour shifts, to include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.

 

Starting Pay:  Starting pay is $35 per hour, with potential for increases based on years of experience.

Schedule:  12-hour Swing shifts - 6 am to 6 pm and 6 pm to 6 am - rotating schedule 

Pay Schedule: Weekly 

Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance Technician Responsibilites: 

 

The ideal candidate will Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams. Inspect electrical components including transformers and circuit breakers. Use testing devices to identify and report electrical problems.  

 

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform minor electrical building repairs as necessary
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of facility machinery
  • Troubleshoot production equipment controlled by PLC controllers, using the troubleshooting tools supplied by a PLC software, preferably Siemens S7 or TIA
  • Troubleshoot VSD, preferably Siemens VFD's
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments as needed
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities 
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision 
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
  • Demonstrate teamwork and high-level communication skills
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Electrical Maintenance Technician  Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong electrical, and electrical controls knowledge. Good hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial knowledge
  • 4 years’ experience in industrial electrical field
  • Proficiency in using multimeters and other measuring equipment to diagnose electrical problems in industrial equipment
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and small hand tools
  • PLC, BMS or other logic platform experiences (preferably Siemens, Allen Bradley / Etc.)
  • Robot programming, installations, troubleshooting and commissioning experience (Fanuc & ABB Preferred)
  • Basic Electricity/Electronics Knowledge.
  • Understand NFPA 70 (NEC), 70B, 70E, 79 codes
  • Have working knowledge of and can troubleshoot ethernet networks. PROFInet knowledge is an added plus
