Wieland is hiring a Driver / Electronics Processing Associate. Wieland SC Technologies support secure IT asset disposition (ITAD) solutions for recycling products to deliver secure end-to-end lifecycle management solutions. The Driver / Electronics Processing Associate will assist in buyback opportunities and/or recycling events to acquire IT assets for resale, refurbishment, or recycling. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, driving a box truck to receive, and organize IT assets ensuring accurate entry of inventory into a database. Most delivery locations are within 150 miles of our campus, so you are going to be home every night. To succeed in this role, the individual should have customer service skills and attention to detail, as well as knowledge of or the desire to learn about IT equipment.


The Driver / Electronics Processing Associate is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to recycling. The Driver / Electronics Processing Associate will report directly to the ITAD Scale Operator and work closely with customers to ensure that everything is properly identified and managed. The individual in this position will spend much of their workday on their feet, lifting and moving heavy objects. The Driver / Electronics Processing Associate will assist in several aspects of operations such as inspection, sortation, and general maintenance as directed. Applicants will be required to pass a background check and meet E-Verify requirements.

 

 

Schedule: Mon – Fri 8:30am – 4:30pm

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues with correct documentation.
  2. Comply with driving rules and regulations as well as with company policies and procedures.
  3. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
  4. Collect and verify delivery instructions.
  5. Report defects, accidents, or violations.
  6. Ability to ensure trailers are locked out and chocked before loading/unloading.
  7. Maintains contact with supervisor, dispatcher, management to receive work instructions.
  8. Work in a timely, safe, and responsible manner to meet customer or company requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be at least 22 years old, have a minimum of 5 years of experience and possess a valid license.
  2. Clean driving record. Not Cited for an accident in the previous three years.
  3. Have knowledge of and compliance with company policy and all federal, state, local laws and regulations governing the operation of company equipment.
  4. Good communication skills; conveys information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; adjusts communication to meet the needs of the audience.
  5. Ability to read and understand documents such as BOL’s, Freight logs and intermodal trans documents, safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
  6. Ability to use a digital camera and upload pictures according to company standards.
  7. Adapts to change quickly and easily and performs effectively during times of change; demonstrates the ability to multi-task and manages competing priorities effectively.
  8. Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Demonstrate strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  10. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
  11. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
  12. Be a safety champion by promoting a safe and productive workplace through your own actions, including the proper use of PPE, safe operation of powered equipment and safe lifting techniques as determined by the role.
  13. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and ability to open containers.
