Wieland is hiring a Block Operator. This role is located in Duncansville, PA and will be fully on-site. 

Starting Pay: (Training: $19.62/hr) after training $24.54/hour

Training will be held on 1st shift and then moved to 3rd shift 

Schedule: 3pm - 11pm

Shift differential for 3rd shift: $0.50 per hour

 Block Operator Responsibilities:

Sets up and operates Block to draw tubing to required size listed on specifications. Operates equipment safely per standard operating procedure and initiates improvement to safe operations as appropriate.

1. Maintains safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures and policies, including use of Personal Protective Equipment as required.
2. Maintains effective communication with other employees, including supervisor/management and during shift changes.
3. Produces material within prescribed tolerances using appropriate measuring device with focus on the “next customer” in a timely manner.
4. Performs Block set-up after analyzing traveler ticket (production order sheets).
5. Manually hand pushes coils from pit arm to tree and from tree to mule with helper.  Will assist helper with mule.
6. Occasionally needs to determine alternate plug and die to produce material to specifications due to raw material variations.
7. Determines and uses appropriate lubricant to produce proper ID (Inside Diameter) and OD (Outside Diameter).
8. Maintains and cleans screen in oil reservoir.
9. Visually inspects drawn tubing for visible defects, etc.
10. Maintains accurate records by posting and recording information as needed, i.e., traveler tickets and/or daily production sheets, time sheets.
11. Demonstrates proficiency in the various tasks identified on the machine’s training evaluation form.
12. Able to work various overtime as business needs require.

Other Functions:

1. Cleans and returns removed tools.
2. Attends meetings as required
3. Cross-trains in other areas as needed

Educational Requirements:

1. High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent training as approved by Immediate Supervisor, Next

Level Supervision, and Human Resources Department.

1. Maintains thorough knowledge of equipment/machine specific SOP’s.
2. Demonstrates proficient knowledge in utilizing measuring devices.
