Wieland is hiring a Machine Operator I. The Machine Operator I will be responsible for the operation of multiple custom machines, inspect quality control of product and performs routine maintenance checks, following all Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines and any other Federal, State or Local regulations. This role is located in Granite City, IL and will be fully on-site. 

Starting Pay:  $20/hr

Schedule: 6 am- 2:30 pm

Pay Schedule: Weekly

Machine Operator I Responsibilities:

• Work independently and as part of a team with safety as the number one priority.
• Recognize and perform preventative and routine maintenance on assigned machine, and trouble shoot issues before failures and repairs are necessary.
• Recommend improvements that can help equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
• Ability to effectively communicate to Teammates, Supervisors and other Departments.
• Inspect finished product to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Perform routine inspection of work area to ensure proper housekeeping.
• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of the Supervisor, Safety or HR.
• Follow Daily Procedures & Protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
• Maintains cleanliness in work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Machine Operator I Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of machine operation and general maintenance experience with process or production equipment in an industrial work environment.
• Willingness to be trained.
• Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to OSHA.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
• Self-motivated person with mechanical ability and problem-solving skills.
• Multi-tasking, operating more than one process at a time.
• Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
• Lift up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, kneel, bend, sit and use stairs or ladder.
• Ability to receive direction/guidance from leadership.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
