Wieland is hiring a Straightener Operator. The Straightener Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating the straightener machine to produce acceptable quality tubing. Operates equipment safely per standard operating procedure and initiates improvement to safe operations as appropriate. This role is located in Duncansville, PA. 

Starting Pay:  $19.38/hr + .40 shift diff. for 60 - 90 day training period, then full rate 24.24/hr + shift diff. 

Schedule: 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) with 1st shift training (7am-3pm)

Pay Schedule: Weekly

Straightener Operator Responsibilities:

• Maintains safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures and policies, including use of Personal Protective Equipment as required.
• Maintains effective communication with other employees, including supervisor/management and during shift changes.
• Produces material within prescribed tolerances with focus on the “next customer” in a timely manner.
• Performs set-up after analyzing traveler ticket (production order sheets) getting tools and gages and placing at machine making proper adjustments.
• Prepares and utilizes the roll straightener machine by loading the tubing into the guide.
• Makes adjustments to rolls as required when incoming material is varying and adjustments to set up are required during the course of the run to produce acceptable product.
• Performs the proper adjustments to the Eddy Tester with the proper test samples so material continuity can be checked.
• Segregates and tags rejected material.
• Hand loads coils onto payoff table by either sliding off mule or lifting off cart.

Straightener Operator Qualifications:

• Performs the proper adjustments to the Eddy Tester with the proper test samples so material continuity can be checked.

• Hand loads coils onto payoff table by either sliding off mule or lifting off cart.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the various tasks identified on the machine’s training evaluation form.
