The Quality Manager leads and continuously improves the site’s Quality Management System (QMS) with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. This role uses coaching, training, and cross-functional collaboration to embed quality into daily operations and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The Quality Manager plays a pivotal role in identifying and driving opportunities for immediate and long-term quality enhancement across the business.

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the site’s Quality Management System (QMS) to meet ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Strengthen customer relationships by improving communication, tracking feedback, and driving resolution of quality issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to resolve recurring problems and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee internal audits to identify non-conformities, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement and manage effective document control and quality tracking systems, including CRM platforms.
  • Provide QMS training to employees across all departments to promote awareness, accountability, and engagement in quality practices.
  • Educate the facility on quality guidelines and procedures to ensure consistent understanding and application.
  • Support and develop the Quality Team through coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance.
  • Work closely with Commercial and Purchasing teams to clarify quality requirements and provide ongoing support in meeting customer and vendor expectations.
  • Develop and maintain inspection and testing procedures for incoming and in-process materials to meet customer and internal specifications.
  • Maintain calibration schedules and conduct GR&R studies to ensure measurement reliability and accuracy.
  • Lead Management Review and strategic quality planning activities to align quality goals with business objectives.
  • Analyze quality data and trends to identify risks, guide decision-making, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Sales, Purchasing, Marketing, and Operations—to provide technical quality support.
  • Launch and manage a Continuous Improvement Program to drive staff engagement in process enhancements.
  • Participate and engage in continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and quality performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality across the supply chain.
  • Promote a culture of Total Quality Management (TQM), transparency, and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Support achievement of ISO certification and pursue external recognition for quality excellence.
  • Supervise laboratory testing related to product quality and compliance requirements.
  • Manage multiple quality projects simultaneously and deliver measurable results.
  • Issue customer credits within authority limits and recommend major equipment purchases when needed.
  • Partner with HR and Operations leadership to address internal personnel matters and maintain a productive work environment.
  • Maintain professional and collaborative relationships across departments to ensure alignment on quality goals.
  • Perform other quality tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in quality management systems, including audits, 8D, and analytical tools.
  • Minimum 3+ years of management experience leading a quality team in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and industry quality system requirements.
  • Proven leadership in quality tools such as PPAP, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and GR&R.
  • Experience overseeing lab testing and compliance functions.
  • Background in metallurgy and/or polymer chemistry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic, and quality software platforms.
  • Experience leading organizations through ISO certification or achieving quality awards.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
