Wieland is hiring a Mechatronics Apprentice.   As part of the ICATT Apprenticeship Program you will receive hands-on experience and structured learning under the guidance of experienced professionals. As an apprentice, you will gain the skills, knowledge, and qualifications to start your career in manufacturing. This role is located in Wheeling, IL and will be fully on-site. 

 

Hourly Pay Range$16.00- $16.00

Pay Schedule: Bi-Weekly

The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be based upon various factors unique to each individual that may include but are not limited to years of eperience, industry knowledge, technical skills, education, qualifications, etc. 

Responsibilities

Mechatronics Apprentice Responsibilities:

  1. Set up, troubleshoot and repair mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics
  2. Wire up motors and drives
  3. Use manual and CNC metalworking machinery
  4. Install and configure programs for hardware and software components
  5. Build, test, modify, and maintain industrial control systems
  6. Install, test, modify, and maintain electrical assemblies
  7. Read technical diagrams and schematics
  8. Choose or develop correct QA test procedures
  9. Assemble, disassemble, secure and transport machinery and systems
  10. Work systematically (Plan-Do-Check-Act)
  11. Analyze problems for effective troubleshooting
  12. Understand the importance of correct documentation
  13. Work safely, understand appropriate precautions and use PPE correctly

 

Mechatronics Apprentice Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma required
  2. Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  3. Strong work ethic and reliability
  4. Good communication and teamwork skills
  5. Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed
  6. Physical stamina and dexterity
  7. Apprentices must be accepted into the Harper College program, via a college placement exam
