Wieland is hiring a Process Engineer. The Process Engineer will provide the support system for the Production and Finishing Departments including troubleshooting equipment and tooling issues, research and implement new processes and methodology’s, with an ongoing commitment to detail & quality. Develop and execute equipment project work with the Plant Functional teams consistent with "Operational Excellence".  This role is located in Delaware, OH and will be fully on-site.

Responsibilities

Process Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Familiarize themselves with Wieland Onda USA equipment and processes.
  • Develop a capital budget for the specific plant that is in line with safety improvements, cost reductions, and other strategic plans. Keep the plan updated as a living document. Implement the capital spending guidelines and procedures.
  • Reviews project and machine documentation to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts, or rearrangement of parts or subassemblies.
  •  Assist the Production Mgr with leading, coordinating and documenting process & continuous improvement workshops Works to lead continuous improvement and implements cost reduction activities.
  • Project work including metalworking process improvements, developing machine set-ups to extend tooling longevity, creating and maintaining quality & productivity reports, and conduct operator training. Will becomes subject matter expert for the technical and quality aspects of assigned area and will optimize, develop, and implement Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Create, update, and document Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Responsible for frontline troubleshooting for all manufacturing processes.
  • Create and update Job Safety Analyses
  • Ensure a safe and environmentally responsible plant according to applicable regulations
  • Cooperate with all departments to continuously improve quality, machine uptime, efficiency and productivity
  • Leader in Continuous Improvement for product quality, work, and documentation
  • Troubleshoot and correct recurring technical problems (in conjunction with the Maintenance Dept)
  • Define production process flows
  • Implementation of controls for production process in terms of productivity/reliability/safety
  • Analyze production figures and provide plans for improvement
  • Lead Production/Engineering/Logistic processes improvement projects
  • Single-point accountability for the workshop team – Assisting them with deliverables to make the workshop a success
  • Coordinate purchases of equipment according to the project need

Process Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent applicable degree.
  • Experience in LEAN or Six Sigma
  • Advanced knowledge of all on-site operations (metal cutting, welding, assembly)
  • Ability to coach, and communicate with individuals across a broad range of education, experience, and functional levels
  • Recognized as a strong contributor within the organization
  • Very strong ability and desire to learn and apply new concepts
  • The personality and desire of an influential "change agent"
  • Demonstrated high performance and commitment to continuous improvement
