Wieland is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer II. The Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to support production efficiency, quality, and cost objectives. This mid-level role applies engineering expertise to lead process improvements, resolve complex production issues, and support cross-functional initiatives, contributing to the continuous improvement of manufacturing capabilities.

Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $97,000

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through process improvements and waste elimination
  • Creation and maintenance of manufacturing documentation (e.g., work instructions, process drawings)
  • Conduct time studies and lead root cause analysis to resolve production issues
  • Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to resolve daily operational challenges
  • Update Bills of Material (BOMs) and Bills of Operations (BOOs) to ensure accuracy
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Design and development of fixtures and tooling
  • Maintain accurate records of process changes and improvements
  • Support new product introductions by preparing and updating process documentation
  • Use SolidWorks to create or modify part and fixture models and drawings
  • Stay informed on advancements in manufacturing and machining technologies
  • Uphold and exemplify Wieland’s values, serving as a positive role model for peers

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 year’s engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software for modeling and drafting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Practical experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt certification preferred)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting
  • Effective verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Clear and professional written communication, including technical documentation and email correspondence
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Capable of lifting and carrying loads up to 50 pounds
