Wieland is hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will work side by side with Production and Maintenance teams and serve as the subject matter expert of Site Technology for assigned shop floor areas. This position will provide solutions for safety improvements on machinery as well as for higher uptime in the process and evaluating reoccurring problems. The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will use legacy and cutting-edge technologies to ensure that the company is leveraging the most effective equipment and systems for increased productivity, quality, machine uptime, safety, and profitability.  This role is located in Wheeling, IL and will be fully on-site. 

Base Salary Range: $66,000- $99,000

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise in mechanical engineering design and specifications of systems which include hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, mechanical fastening, welding, and fabrication.
• Act as Project Lead to ensure project scope, schedule and budget are maintained.
• Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including mechanical requirements, safety standards and machine reliability metrics.
• Create machine and component design, equipment layout and structural fabrication drawings to be used for fabrication and assembly by internal personnel or outside vendors
• Provide technical support, training and work side by side with Maintenance and Production employees to accomplish projects and all tasks.
• Responsible for selecting equipment suppliers, engineering firms and consultants
• Document and file all drawing and changes properly in documentations and SAP
  

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related degree
• 1 Year related experience preferred
• Recognized as a strong contributor and experience in leading projects involving redesigning parts from automated equipment
• Proficient with MS, Office, AutoCAD, Siemens NX/Siemens NX ECTR, SAP
• Strong ability to multitask complex projects in a fast-paced environment and excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
