Wieland is hiring a General Foreman. The General Foreman will be responsible for all aspects of the production. Develops and implements the necessary strategies to meet identified goals in safety, quality, production throughput, equipment OEE and cost performance. They will be given the latitude to manage the department with the expectation to meet or exceed the identified goals and be a role model to represent the Wieland values. This role is located in Cuba, MO and will be fully on-site.  

Responsibilities

General Foreman Responsibilities:

  • Foster Wieland’s Core Values of Ambition, Respect, Reliability, Diversity, Optimism, Ownership and Safety-Health-Environment.
  • Oversee all daily activities of the production floor.
  • Execute a safe and injury-free work environment.
  • Compile, analyze and report production data.
  • Develop or revise standard operational procedures and Standard work for Supervisors, Technicians and Operators.
  • Appraise subordinates and submits appraisal.
  • Interact closely with all departments to ensure optimal production.
  • Implement lean methodologies to drive improvement in safety, quality, OEE and cost performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, laws, policies and SOPs, use progressive disciplinary action as needed.
  • Mentor and coach subordinates in developing a continuous improvement environment based on our Wieland values.
  • Resolve worker issues or submit issues to the Operations Manager for action.
  • Responsible for routine safety, housekeeping and quality inspections throughout the plant.
  • Strive continually to improve manpower utilization in alignment with Production Planning.
  • Anticipate and track operational and tactical risks and providing strategic solutions.
  • Work closely and partner with Human Resources focusing on culture, on-boarding, retention, and training.

General Foreman Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Computer Literacy to include Microsoft such as Excel and PowerPoint & SAP.
  • Proven leaderships skills in communication, collaboration, and accountability in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have strong analytical, organizational & decision-making skills to execute and manage effectively.
  • Broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies.
