Wieland is hiring a Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining the facility, equipment, and support the organization’s production goals and objectives. THis role will determine the causes of breakdown or failures in electrical or mechanical equipment and make repairs, adjustments, modififications, and service all equipment. The Maintenance Tech will work as directed with the Production Manager and Maintenance Engineer and perform maintenance related tasks in all departments as directed while adhering to proper safety protocol and maintaining communication.  This role is located in South Gate, CA and will be fully on-site. 

 

Hourly Pay Range: $30.00-$30.00

Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday 4am-4pm

Pay Schedule: weekly

Responsibilities

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

  • Work safely and promote the safety of those working around you; help build a proactive safety culture
  • Identify and correct potential safety hazards to prevent injuries
  • Maintain, install, service, and repair a wide variety of equipment and systems by:
    • Determining the cause of equipment breakdown or failure and perform necessary repairs.
    • Analyzing drawings, manuals, wiring diagrams, etc. as required to install, repair, calibrate or otherwise service all types of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic devices and systems.
    • Applying preventative methods and routine maintenance to reduce unplanned equipment downtime.
    • Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.
    • Communicate with manufacturers, service groups, and other support as needed.
  • Support management of spare parts inventories.
  • Maintain the facility and support equipment in working order by performing repairs and modifications.
  • Support maintenance scheduling and planning including Preventative Maintenance efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Maintenance Technician Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge around the functions and designs of bearings, motors, gearboxes, and other major electrical or mechanical components.
  • 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent to include technical training or degree.
  • Demonstrate safety knowledge and positive safety behaviors.
  • Pro-Active and Predictive Maintenance knowledge or training desired.
  • Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance and ability to support investigations and develop mitigation plans to address findings.
  • Ability to identify and communicate material and/or part needs for procurement and sourcing.
  • Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with all co-workers.
  • Good judgment in recognizing scope of responsibilities.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate information effectively and accurately.
  • Good problem-solving skills, be able to work independently, and be able to do highly accurate work that requires concentration and physical effort.
