Wieland is hiring a Slitting Operator. The Slitting Operator will be responsible for all tasks that support the production of material.  This includes final inspection of packing of material, warehouse organization, and tinning of material, as well as tasks associated with the operation of tinning machines as determined by the operations supervisor and manager. This role is located in Waterbury, CT and will be fully on-site. 

Hourly Pay Range: $23.00/hr

Work Schedule: 1st Shift (6am-2:30pm)

Slitting Operator Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing all tasks safely and identifying hazards in the production environment.
• Responsible for being familiar with adhering to all Job Safety Analyses (JSAs). 
• Responsible for upholding any and all standards set forth by the management team. 
• Oversee set up and helper job to ensure the line is equipped correctly
• Follow the work instructions given for the purchase order. 
• Follow any quality instructions for each customer. 
• Document all slitting records in appropriate logs.
• Oversee the material while in the slitting process
• Ensure samples, labels and packaging is in accordance with customer requirements. 
• Responsible for the machine specific or situational duties as assigned by the operations supervisor and manager. 
• Responsible for keeping the work area clean. 
• Responsible for the safe operation of Sit Down (9K + Capacity) forklifts. 

Slitting Operator Qualifications:

• High School degree or GED equivalent.
• Previous experience with Sit Down forklifts
• Competent in the use of banders, hand tools, and other tools associated with the job. 
• Ability to read and understand customer specifications, posted notices and QA Alerts. 
• Commitment to established values and culture of WMS.
• Full compliance with all Company Poliices and Procedures, i.3., safety, PPE, attendance, dress code, etc.
